MAO Elections

We had our elections for various officer positions today. Diana and I could not decide for the first vote (Kavita vs. Clara for president). We felt terrible. So we did not vote for that position.
The results favored me greatly, but looking at the list, I wonder if I am the person who "doesn't really qualify"... Basically, we went up, introduced ourselves, and gave little speeches about why we want to hold a position and how we could help. I felt really bad because I kind of shoved a few future seniors aside and they are very frustrated about it. I think I just made enemies with half the club. However, the other half the club was nice enough to acknowledge my existence. My best friends were not favored this way, so I don't get to work with them :( I especially felt terrible for Ryan because he didn't get quite enough votes for Treasurer and he would've been wonderful. He can add numbers incredibly and has nice handwriting.
I cannot accurately express the happiness I felt when the president (also next year's president) looked at me before she said who they were, and actually said my name! There is an enormous fraction of the Class of 2008, so there aren't that many people in the running for President next time. It should be interesting.
Here are the results:
President: Kavita Chandra*
Vice President: Clara Vu*
Captains: Gaku Liu* and Kejing Jiang***
Secretary: Candace Rosier*
Treasurer: Hilary Finley-Simonds(I don't know which class she is.)
Fundraiser: Ann Dietrich*
Historians: Erica Kearney*** and Shuyao Zhang***
Technology Coordinator: Logan Stafman**
*Class of 2008
**Class of 2009
***Class of 2010
