I haven't done history homework all weekend. It makes me feel free. I'm going to regret it dearly tomorrow, though.
I'm sacrificing precious math study time for Chemistry because I'm really weird. I don't need to, though, since I have enough time over the summer. I think.
Anyways, I've only completed one test even though I need to finish two to hand in with the math homework packet because the teacher eliminated the first two assignments out of the total of three so that my MVC and I could do more MAO practice instead of boring complex number homework. There's a math quiz next Monday and I don't think I'm going to do very well on it because there's this certain type of problem that I can't seem to do correctly. Which is bad. Especially since I don't know how I could've made the exact same mistakes as my MVC, who was doing the exact problem at the exact time in the exact same setting, except with a different brain.
The audition for Symphony (the highest level for Youth Orchestras here) is early May, so I have ONE month to learn the excerpts and prepare a solo. Oh dear.
I was emailing David and this is what was on the right side of the email (where the subliminal Gmail advertisements are located):
This is kind of random too, but I had to read Night by Elie Wiesel for history, and there was one part that was really sad. I typed it up in MS Word and copy and pasted it here:
“All the earth and universe are God’s!”
He kept pausing, as though he lacked the strength to uncover the meaning beneath the text. The melody was stifled in his throat.
And I, the former mystic, was thinking: Yes, man is stronger, greater than God. When Adam and Eve deceived You, You chased them from paradise. When You were displeased by Noah’s generation, You brought down the Flood. When Sodom lost Your favor, You caused the heavens to rain down fire and damnation. But look at these men whom You have betrayed, allowing them to be tortured, slaughtered, gassed, and burned, what do they do? They pray before You! They praise Your name!
“All of creation bears witness to the Greatness of God!”
In days gone by, Rosh Hashanah had dominated my life. I knew that my sins grieved the Almighty and so I pleased for forgiveness. In those days, I fully believed that the salvation of the world depended on every one of my deeds, on every one of my prayers.
But now, I no longer pleased for anything. I was no longer able to lament. On the contrary, I felt very strong. I was the accuser, God the accused. My eyes had opened and I was alone, terribly alone in a world without God, without man. Without love or mercy. I was nothing but ashes now, but I felt myself to be stronger than this Almighty to whom my life had been bound for so long. In the midst of these men assembled for prayer, I felt like an observer, a stranger.

Latin
I had to retrieve my violin from my math teacher's room to take home, but he left early (for the first time ever), so I had to run to the office and then run back so someone could unlock the door. The person came kind of slowly, so I was going to run to the bus and just go home, but I missed it, so I ran back, and thankfully, I got my violin. Then, I went to visit Diana in her Latin room because I needed a ride home. People left to do a state Latin seeding test. Some people didn't show up, so others had to fill in. It was quite hectic before the actual test because they had to replace people. Finally, they left. After a while, the Latin teacher thought they were taking too long on their tests. They were 10 problems long, and the Latin kids were working in groups.
He looked passively impatient and said, "I mean, I sent in a bunch of Asians and some other folks, so I dunno what's takin' them so long."

2008 Presidential Election Candidates
I got this email from a summer program and they had a poll for who you think will be the best president. Here were the candidates:
Sam Brownback (R-Kansas)
Rudolph Giuliani (R-New York)
Mike Huckabee (R-Arkansas)
Duncan Hunter (R-California)
John McCain (R-Arizona)
Mitt Romney (R-Massachusetts)
Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado)
Tommy Thompson (R-Wisconsin)
Joe Biden (D-Delaware)
Hillary Clinton (D-New York)
Chris Dodd (D-Connecticut)
John Edwards (D-North Carolina)
Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio)
Barack Obama (D-Illinois)
Bill Richardson (D-New Mexico)
Tommy Thompson was Wisconsin's governor. Then, he went and worked for George Bush. Everyone loved him and was disappointed to see him leave. I'm so happy! It's awesome that he's running for President!

It's excited meh
I think that I'm actually excited about sophomore year because it couldn't possibly be worse than freshman year unless my unweighted (the normal one) GPA drops from a 4.0 to something much lower. So, potentially, I could get straight F's.
We are signing up for next year's classes next month, and when I get all my signatures and such, I will post what I'm taking (of course).
I'm so bored in Team Sports. I better have an A because there is no reason why I wouldn't, but P.E. teachers never tell you what you have in the class until it is too late. I am already tired of "dressing out" (changing) because the high is over 80 degrees every day. Soon, it will be over 90 degrees every day. ("Dressing in" means changing back into your normal clothes.) It's even worse because all of my Floridian friends are in AP ACCEL, so they never seem to go outside. I will be in AP ACCEL next year because the Gifted Coordinator proclaimed it to be true, and separately, my science teacher told me that she will approve me for Pre-AP Biology Honors. Yay.
Next year, with the new AP ACCEL PLUS, freshmen can take AP World History instead of being in AP ACCEL and taking Accelerated World History Honors. Accelerated and Pre-AP classes count the same way as honors classes on our transcripts, I believe. Diana, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure that Pre-AP classes count as normal honors classes, though.
We have about 2.5 weeks to study for the Mu Alpha Theta State Convention in Orlando. Yay... Well, I'm sure it's going to be fun. I just can't guarantee that I will do anything well with my math. I suppose studying might help. Heheh.
I realize that all I'm talking about these days is school, school, school, school, school. However, please realize that I barely have a life outside of school because piano is iffy and I haven't had TSYO for a while.
Hah. I have to remember to take home my violin. Argh. I hope I don't forget. There's actually rehearsals again.

Hey. I finished.
I finished my AP Application Essay! I reread it twice for editing, and do not want to read it again. I probably will, though.
I have to go. Grr. I might add more later. Sorry!

88
Today, the high is 88 degrees Fahrenheit.
For now, it is about 74 degrees and very, very sunny. It is such a nice day that I really want to go outside.
My eyes still hurt from yesterday. I got up at about 4:50am to arrive at the school by 5:30. It was very similar to the Buchholz Regional, except that it was hosted by the people of the University of Florida's Nu Alpha Theta.
The trophies were dark blue. Very nice. Unfortunately, no one in Algebra II for Chiles obtained one. It was hilarious when they announced our names alphabetically by alphabetical schools, but Lawton Chiles was complete skipped for Algebra II. We had pwnd at team round by placing first by 4 points with a 124, but we kind of died during the individual test... So, our team did not place, either.
On the way back, Mr. F told the "lower divisions" (Algebra II...) to work much harder on Individual.
My eyes hurt all day, and even do now.
In general, it was a nice ending to our homework-filled Spring Break, though.
Yesterday night, I wrote a page of my AP application essay (FINALLY!) but didn't feel like finishing. Partially through it all, I got so tired that my hands were still typing, but my forehead had fallen onto my desk.
And now, it is time to study for the State Convention. X_X

FU Invitational tomorrow =/
I feel so horrible.
I haven't studied MAO, which will be vital tomorrow, nor thought of a topic for my AP application essay that's due on Wednesday.
Today, Rose replied a missed call she got from me, and after hearing her talk, I was reminded of eighth grade. She could take for days straight about one video game =)
It was heartbreaking to realize what I was leaving last July. Moving has been in the back of my mind for more than a year today.
Today, I watched the Memoirs of a Geisha. The theme song is still in the back of my mind. Yo-yo Ma is so amazing. -sob- I can't say the movie was amazing, but it was not bad. It would be beneficial to read the book first if you were to want to see it because some of it might not make sense. The book explicitly shows many cultural details by explaining just about everything. I read it towards the end of eighth grade.
Aaah. Eighth grade. I realize that I talk about it a bit too much, but it was my transition towards a normal girl to someone who cannot seem to lift herself from the stresses of her life. It was a turning point that cannot be followed backwards, and as regretful as it is, there is nothing I can do.
So, please don't be too annoyed when I mention eighth grade in every other sentence. This goes especially to Diana and any other Floridians who may be reading this. Although, if there are other Floridians reading this, then could you please email me? I wasn't aware that you did.

*-*
I hate Princess Peach.
I also don't like how I still don't know what to write for my AP application essay. And how it's due next Wednesday.
For History, I'm currently doing a "newspaper article" on women during WWII. Next, I have to create a minimum of four advertisements. I was thinking about advertising grenades, but I might get into trouble for that and I don't think they were sold to common households. This newspaper thing is so annoying!
I'm going to upload a random picture now because this post is really boring (not that the older ones aren't.)

IE7 vs. MF
Internet Explorer 7: Better for dial-up because it seems to load a bit faster, better for old people because it displays everything in a centered sort of way, larger text, very simple format, convenient access to favorites and history because of the left column thing you can pull out and even keep there if you want
Mozilla Firefox: Much better display, pictures all look sharper, websites are usually moved to the top left corner so they aren't centered unless it is the way the website is made, better for browsing because things look nicer, good for faster internet if you want to kind of randomly look online, pictures load from top to bottom quite smoothly, the loading bar at the bottom is much more accurate (IE7's green loading thing makes you think it's almost done and then you have to wait more and more and more), has an automatic spell checker for when you type that is good for your random typing errors
Overall, Mozilla Firefox makes the internet more enjoyable, but Internet Explorer 7 seems easier to use. Today, I've used Firefox because I liked how everything looked nicer, but when doing research, I would prefer IE7 because you can access bookmarked pages very easily and work offline. I don't know if you can work offline on Firefox. The annoying thing is, every minute or so a screen pops up for me to re-dial on Firefox if I'm not connected. Grrr.
Tomorrow is going to be awesome! My HOUSE is coming in the morning, and my VP and MVC will be here around 1:30pm because the MVC has tennis lessons and the VP has no ride. I hope my HOUSE remembers to bring a few piano books. =)
