Not my decision

I know someone who knows someone who takes lessons from one of the three judges for the last TSYO auditions, so it is possible that I could find out my results as early as next Wednesday. The person I know found out that she got into Chamber. This is horrible because she didn't make it into Symphony.
I'M SCARED!!
And I don't want to go home on the bus tomorrow because I want to get into Anchor Club.
I just have to wait for these results now.
Oh yeah. Since I have the horriblest classes in the world, I have to focus my attention on other things or risk losing my mind. I realized how much catching up I have to do for...

PIANO!

If I ever get bored in China, I'm not leaving my little cousin's house because I will be playing the piano for hours. And, with great sincerity and not a hint of sarcasm, I declare that this will be great fun.

Another awesome Chinese friend!!

This post is dedicated to Shuyao because she is awesome. I'm not going to proclaim all over the internet why, but she is ^^.

Yahoo! Smilies

For the new within-Yahoo! Mail-smilies thing, they changed the smilies to newer ones!! In the emails, I hope they didn't. Those smilies were awesome! And adorable. And fun. I loved the enormous smiles and the evil grins.
Yahoo! has way too much extra stuff on its page. Gmail is so much cleaner and neater.
It's Friday!
Today was the Anchor Club interview. We find out if we get in on Monday if our big sister comes during our 2nd period. I hope I got into the club! (It's a service club.)
We are FINALLY doing binomial series in math! We don't do Trig until next year... Boo. We do Pre-Calc, actually, which does Trig/Analyt and Pre-Calc. And uses the same little red textbook as the Trig class. We will have Little Red Books! =O ^^. Binomial series was probably my favorite part of AlgII MAO. It's so sad that we had to wait so long. Yesterday, the math teacher gave his ultimate new overhead projector example. I think I have an English, Science, and Math test next Wednesday. These are three big tests, but hopefully, my misery will be balanced out by the MAO Banquet (6:30-8:30pm)!! I'm so excited!

I <3 the Internet!

Today, I found "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day and "U Can't Touch This" by M. C. Hammer on the internet. I will not speak more of it because I think I did something illegal. Actually, I'm sure. The Green Day one is so sad! Back in WI when I had DSL, I saw the music video on Yahoo! At first I thought the girl was mad because he made her pregnant except then there were scenes of a war. It was too depressing.
Even Jack thinks the song is really depressing! He has feelings! =O In fact, he finds it so depressing that he refrained from putting it on his iPod Nano.
I wish I had an iPod.
I got the other song because June has this little obsession over it but, poor guy, he doesn't know how to download it free from the internet.

DI4 ER4 BAI3!

Wow... I can't believe it! The 200th post is here!
First of all, here's a NY Times article that is very sad and interesting.
CLICK ON THIS
I have to play the piano now so I can't write that much... Sorry... Hopefully the last post was long enough. I was going to wait and put that as the 200th post but it was so meaningful that I wanted it on my blog NOW(well, yesterday) so yeah.
Orchestra is so weird. We got new music but we didn't end up playing anything. We just sat there.

Casi el ducentesimo

This was posted on Facebook (by me, of course.)

To my piano...
Today, Brianna inspired me to rant about music. She is one of the most obsessed people I know (in a good way!) with this wonderful art. I was reminded of my childhood days. It started on the first floor of where we lived in Birmingham, England. The owner of the house rented out the 2nd floor to my parents, me, and another Chinese woman. The first time I met the (old-ish) lady who owned the house, we were in her living room. This was England, though, so the houses were connected and quite narrow and the rooms small. I remember coming up to my parents' waists and looking up at the toweringly tall adults. My mom noticed that I looked at the piano very often. This may have been the first time I saw a piano, and it is definitely my first memory of a piano. I was handed a white piano book with a red apple in the middle with a rectangular red border. I don't know if my mind made this up, but I believe it existed and was my very first piano book. We didn't have our own piano, so every evening, I would go downstairs to play on her shiny black upright. One day, I started practicing, and after what seemed like 10 minutes, I started playing through the other pieces in the book. Later, at age 5, my parents told me that I had practiced for two or three hours a day and refused to leave the piano. I remember running back down after dinner to practice more because I was so possessed. One day, an older Chinese girl came. I had no idea who she was, but my mom said that she was very good and we played a duet together. I still have a picture of that, which is why I've been able to retain that memory for so long. They really help keep you on par with the little moments of your childhood. By the time I was two months before I'd turn 6, my parents told me that the other Chinese lady was moving to Canada in June. In June, she left, and my father told me that we were moving to American in July. My mother had to get rid of almost all of my books, including a large, pink hardcover nursery rhyme book that had all the classic English nursery rhymes.
In Madison, we moved into an apartment. It was relatively nice because of its hardwood floors. The one thing that I wanted was a piano. One day, my mom as in the dining area and I looked up at her (I was still short...). I said, "wo3 yao4 yi1 ge gang1 xing2" (I want a piano.) She said that we would get one in a few weeks. A few weeks passed by, and I asked her again. This time, she and my father went to a piano store the next weekend. Later, I went, too, and looked around. One piano caught my attention because the keys were not old and yellow. I didn't walk too far past it because I was satisfied with playing a little piece on it. My parents decided that I liked it. It was a bit over a thousand dollars. I have played that piano since before 1st grade started. There are many more memories in my hippocampus, but it would take far too long to write in one Facebook note. When playing a piece, even for the first time, I have gotten completely lost within the music. Often, I "wake up" again, realizing where I am on the page. There is nothing in the world besides me, my piano, and a blur of black and off-white.
-____my name______
P.S. I tagged a few people who I know love music, but this isn't soley intended for them. I'm not sure who my audience was intended to be.

2 hrs. 4 min.

Katelyn and I are emailing back and forth every hour or so saying that we are NERVOUS...
Which we are.
So nervous, in fact, that our stomachs are already starting to feel cold and uncomfortable.
:(

Thankfully Thankful

At this point in the year, many students are cramming for their insanely impossible AP exams. This is when I am very, very thankful. Hopefully, I am done with my exams for the school year. As the class of 2010, three years of agony lay ahead of us. I'm sure we're very happy to go off to play tennis, get really nervous for the TSYO audition, and other innocent, happy little things that are not quite so vital on our transcripts. I know I've complained all year, but comparing this to my next three years, I think it's relatively safe to say that I am glad it is now and not tomorrow.

This does not mean I don't hate this year with every brain cell I control.

Facebook

It seems a lot better than Myspace, but the format could be improved.
I'm just browsing around, finding very random people who I know on it.
Yeah.
Weird, I know.
Oh dear.
I just remembered that I have a science test tomorrow that I don't want to fail.
